Christmas day videos

Perfect Christmas

The Sunday before Christmas we arrived home from our road trip. We had an amazing trip visiting family and attending Travis' wedding but then we were ready for a quiet Christmas at home.

We hung out at home doing simple festive activities.

I finished making our snowman family.

 Festive dress up
Luke wore that Santa suit to help me deliver homemade goodies to friends on Tuesday evening.
Christmas Eve we built a snowman. Superhero Snowman.

Christmas Eve we sang Christmas songs as a family, made a snowman, read the scripture of the birth of Christ and set up the nativity with our toy set and a magnet storyboard. We watched Home Alone.

Christmas Eve night the kids open a present. New pjs. Mom and dad got new pjs too. We read a lot of fun Christmas stories during that week leading up to Christmas morning.

Christmas morning

As soon as it was 6:30a Luke came out of his room ...ready for gift opening. Everyone came to mom and dad's room and we headed out to the living room together. Santa and our loved ones were very good to us this year. Awesome presents.

All in our family have been sick in the last week. We are trying to get better but it's taking a long time.

It was a white Christmas, just beautiful. It snowed a few days before Christmas. Then it snowed all day on Christmas.

The boys love bey blades they played at a friends' house. So they asked for some for Christmas.

 Opening gifts

 Stitch and WallE !
Athena got Snow White and the 7 dwarfs which fit perfectly in the new doll house I got her from D.I. for $1

Athena's end result of amazing gifts...

Sterling's loot...
M&M blanket, screw drivers, M&M mug, Lego Movie Tshirt, a track suit , a collectable spoon from Tennessee where Abigail is serving her mission. And the movies are to the whole family.
I got new long, warm pjs, a book to help me learn to make new cake toppers from fondant, Austenland Blueray, hot chocolate and a few things coming soon in the mail from Sterling...Downton Abby season 5 and a $50 gift card to Hobby Lobby!
Luke got lots of cool stuff. The gifts the boys got to share are a new bed set, puzzles and bey blades.
 Ty's loot.

We also got games, calendar and more puzzles.
And books. We got lots of books this year! And we love to read.
The boys rotate who sleeps on which bed so it doesn't matter where the bed set is. It's awesome!

But of course it's not the gifts that matter. We love the time we spend together. Decorating, singing, reading, playing games, remembering the story of the Savior's birth, playing in the snow, drinking hot chocolate, watching movies together, and more.

Travis' Wedding

The reason we went to Utah this month is that Travis got married! We went down for the wedding.

Mom Roundy threw a luncheon with a Christmas decor theme. It was cute. Here are pics from the luncheon. Unfortunately Sterling got sick the night before and was in bed most of the time from then on. He got up to help with dad and brothers set up for the luncheon. He even went to breakfast with them. But he slept through the luncheon.

The groom and bride Travis and Aubrianne...

Aubry's nieces and nephews playing Ring Around the Rosie

The wedding was in the Provo temple! Mom Roundy dreamt long of having a child married in the Provo temple where she herself was wedd. Finally it happened!

I was not "the photographer." I was just asked to take pictures so the Roundys could have wedding portraits right away instead of waiting for the photographer to get them to us.

Here are pics at the temple after the ceremony...

All Travis' siblings who could make it...Trevor, Josh, Jon, Ster and Maria.

It was kind of cold. Cold enough to snow just before the bride and groom came out of the temple. Here is a picture of the snowfall just two minutes before the newlyweds emerged.

The Wedding Reception

Poor Ster was sick. He went to the wedding though he was really sick. Then to the reception. He and Athena left the party early to go home to bed.

Tiberias got so sleepy grandpa had to comfort him

 Throwing the bouquet
It was cute. She threw a bouquet to each of the children!

The beautiful bride with her niece.

I got to know Aubry a little bit before she married Travis. The men had a bachelor party and we women had a last minute planned bachelorett party. The men played video games, ate food and watched a stupid movie.

The women went out to Costa Vita for dinner and dessert. There was Aubry, Simone, Maria and myself. It was a lot of fun! We talked about our men, the fears of the bride and the family...the Roundys. Aubry worried she might marry Travis then find out he is someone different than she thought...that he might have weird quirks she doesn't know about. I admitted that I married the weirdest of the Roundy boys and Maria agreed. lol. I think we calmed her fears though. Travis is wonderful. I feel we also gave her a good welcome to the family party and connected with each other.

We watched "The Holiday" back at the Roundy home. Mom joined us. And we had hot chocolate. Then we called it a night to get our beauty sleep. And of course one gift was given...it was a bachelorette party after all. One pretty, pink piece of lingerie from Victoria's Secret.

The wedding week seemed to be pretty stress free and drama free. It was awesome!

Sterling kept sleeping most of the days trying to get better. He hung out with his dad and brothers as much as he could since he rarely gets the chance.

On Sunday morning we got up early and said goodbye. We set out on our trip home. It took longer to get home because it was snowing the first part of the trip. But we made it home that evening. Just in time to get ready for Christmas.
