Bunnies & Angry Birds

The first week of January our female rabbit, Buttercup, surprised us with bunnies. 7. One morning I went to check on Buttercup and discovered she had pulled a ton of fur from her chest. I did not know just how late in the pregnancy pulling fur for a nest comes. Apparently it comes the day she gives birth. Two bunnies did not survive but that still left us with 7.

As newborns the bunnies don't have fur and look more like rats than rabbits. They can't open their eyes and just lay in their nest together to keep warm the first week of life. Here are pics of them at one week old. A tiny bit of fur has grown.

We found a new home for the rabbit that turned out to be a male...Nutella. A new home with women to love him and a large cage.
I wanted to have one litter of bunnies but we don't want to keep doing it so we had to get rid of one of the adult rabbits.

Buttercup was our first rabbit. She was playful like a puppy when she was a little bunny. As she got older she became moody now and then (as women do once a month). Then when she became a mom, as an adult rabbit, she stopped playing with her toys and is pretty calm. Now that she has seven bunnies chasing her around the cage for food all day she needs breaks. I take her out of the cage to be alone or with humans and stretch her legs in the bathroom or kitchen.

I painted the boys' bedroom walls. Angry Birds!

Athena turned 2! And we had a fun kid's party. Athena picked a Minion cake so I made the whole party off that theme.

Play the harmonica, baby?
