Mary Poppins at Yokota Air Base

The production was free. We went to the Taiyo center to see it opening night. Most of the actors were from our ward. Mary Poppins herself is not.

They also had a ton of little dancers for a couple scenes and many of them were not from our ward.

The production was wonderful. They did a great job! The play lasted almost three hours though! That was too long. I am actually glad I missed being in this particular production. It was so time consuming. 

They had four performances. Luckily, surprisingly, they didn't cancel the production due to the Corona Virus scare. The play happened at a time when they were cancelling things on base. But I am sure the theater leaders refused to allow that after so many weeks of dedication and time from all involved.

Our children were falling asleep by the end. It started at 6pm so it was almost nine when we snuck out to go home. And then on Sunday the kids told Ster and I they wanted to go see the play again! I was surprised. Unfortunately for them it was over by that point. Next time a play comes to base we'll know the kids want to see it twice.
