Halloween Fun

Red and the Wolf. I dressed up as Red Ridding Hood to deliver some goodies to single airman in the squadron. "You Got Booed" was the name of the activity. The Keyspouses put it together and delivered it. I am keyspouse now so I go to meetings. I meet with five more women to take care of the members and families in the squadron.

Here is Laurie Pope and I delivering treats.
My kids dressed up the weekend before Halloween...for the squadron Trunk or Treat and party.
Lachoneus is Luigi Maker. Athena is a Zombie. Tiberias is Larry Koopa.

I ordered yellow pjs and made Ty's costume. Athena's outfit and wig came from the Airman's Attic for free. And Luke's was made with stuff from The Attic as well as the overalls I ordered online. Made his belt  and hammer.

Sunday morning we did a video call with all of Sterling's family. Grandma and Grandpa wanted to see the kids in their costumes. But Athena's costume was being washed from the night before. So we turned her into a werewolf instead...

Sterling and I are steampunk this year. We got out costumes at the Airman's Attic for free. By chance. Lucky!

Then we purchased gears and I added them to both costumes to make us match each other better. I got some books and added belt and gear pieces as well.

The night before Halloween our ward had an activity. We are not allowed to meet in groups over 20 people. So we set up an event where groups of 20 or less rotate through different yards for different fun games and treats. The families who live near each other volunteered their yards and each set up something to do at their location. The youth groups were given tasks as well. One yard was the young women hosting a game for the kids to win prizes. The young men had a fishing game and guitar concert. There was Bingo in one location and charades at another. Ster set up his projector to show halloween cartoons at one yard. Dinner was hosted at another.

The families in our group were the Frost's and the Squire family. The Frosts are awesome! I count Elizabeth Frost to be my good friend. They have kids from age 6 to age 18, I think.

The Squires are a young couple with a baby boy.

It was fun..however...cold. There was a cold wind and a cold air. It hadn't been that cold the day before but it hit us hard for the ward activity. We all rushed through each station because it was all outdoors. Even though we were suppose to be on a schedule...everyone decided to ignore that and move faster. The only station that did not go so well for was the dinner station. You do need 15 minutes to eat dinner!

Yokota was extremely blessed however...the next night...Halloween night was not cold. It was not windy. It was perfect. I bundled up my children expecting the cold but it wasn't necessary after all.

Halloween night Sterling set up a projector inside the front door. He played spooky skeleton scenes on our front door and impressed at the adults that came by. Some of the kids were too scared of it.
Ster opened the kitchen window and played a speaker loud with the sound for the skeleton scenes.

He also set up a projector on the side of the house so everyone walking up or down our street could watch a movie. I put a sign by the sidewalk inviting all to sit and watch . But they all had too much candy to collect, I guess.

I handed out candy on the front porch. Last year we didn't get a lot of kids at our house for candy. The reason..because most of my neighbors turned off their lights and went trick or treating. They didn't hand out candy. This year I had more neighbors handing out candy. So we had a lot more trick or treaters.

I decided last minute to let Luke take both of his siblings trick or treating. I needed to stay and hand out candy. And Ster needed to stay with the movie because...he also had a nice fire in a firepit and he had to watch it.

Trick or Treating without adults went well for my kids. Thank goodness. And eventually I moved over to be with Sterling and hand out candy from there.

Trick or Treating lasted from 5-8:00pm. I had just enough candy and toys. This year we handed out puzzle games and little halloween toys we got from Oriental Trading. I really enjoyed handing out those as well as candy.

It was a safe, happy and successful Halloween.

Luke gave away all of his candy that night. He has been trying to be healthy lately. I am shocked.

Tiberias and Athena handed their buckets of candy over to me so I can monitor how much they eat. They get two pieces a day.

The next day was Fast Sunday. It was also our first day back at church in a month. It was weird but it ended up being no church October. We had watched general conference bit by bit each Sunday during October.
I didn't think I had missed it...attending church. But when we were back I fully enjoyed the meeting. I loved being back in our building, back with our ward and back to that atmosphere and spirit.
Our whole family wore Halloween themed church outfits even though it was technically Nov.

The kids carved their own pumpkins with minimal help from Mom. Athena...a cat. Ty...a jack o lantern face, Luke...a meta knight.

September

Losing weight. I am working now to lose weight for next summer. The wedding vow renewal...the party to celebrate our love and our marriage. I want to look great in my dress and for the portraits. I am successfully losing weight for the first time since Tiberias was a newborn. It's hard!

I made and donated a bunch of adorable and delicious cupcakes for a squadron fundraiser...

Ster and I went on a date. A squadron date night. Dinner was good. There was a photo studio that Ster ad I set up. Ster also helped the photographer set their camera and lighting correctly.

We really enjoyed being on a date together.

Athena made a Japanese tiny treat set. She loved it.
Ministering teaching: Went to lunch with my companion and our sister we visit. Both women are so fun. The meal was amazing!
