Veteran's Day

Sterling and the kids had Veteran's day off. It turned into a really fun day for us.

After lunch we all went for ice cream. Baskin Robbins is in the YCC which is the base shopping center. The kids chose cookie ice cream sandwiches.

Athena chose a chocolate chocolate chip cookie and a regular chocolate chip cookie with rainbow sherbet ice cream in the middle! lol. Gross. She enjoyed it though.

That evening we had activity day boys. The boys met at our house and we drove three cars over to the obstacle course park off base. It was really dark and the park has no lights. We had flashlights for all the kids. Brother Anderson talked about how life is like an obstacle course in the dark. The gospel is the light. Life is hard enough without being in the dark. Just like an obstacle course is hard enough in the day...add complete darkness and it is dangerous.

We went through the obstacle course park with our flashlights and had a great time. The boys had a lot of fun doing this activity. Then we drove them home. We were stuck in Japan traffic for an extra half hour trying to get back to the military base.

The next day the kids went back to school but Sterling had the day off. So we took advantage and turned it into a date.

We went to lunch at Route 16, a diner on base, and we enjoyed being home alone together.
