August Begins

Athena learned to ride a bike!
I bought her a balance bike from the Japanese Toys R Us store. It was a little short for her but I had hopes it would do the trick. She rode it for a month then we tried the big kid bike. It didn't take long at all!  I took her to the tennis court that rarely is used to practice long stretches without the fear of walls, trees or cars.
I kept taking her on rides so she could practice. She is now a pro!
The kids love the Natatorium! I love that it's free and it's not often crowded!
We have given the kids a full month in swim lessons and we are in our second month now.

Sterling and have a primary class and here they are...

 A local Splash Pad:

It was insanely hot! But there was a mist that would blow and there was shade to be in. The trees were noisy with bugs that live in this kind of heat.
The Parks took us on a double date to try Ramen at some of the best ramen joints. Their first choice was closed for the night so we went to another location.
Brother Parks served his mission in Japan and lived in Japan before that as well. He loves it! So, being with him we refrain from admitting we don't like being here. But we are hoping his love for it will rub off on us.
